During the past two days, the rural areas of Idlib and Aleppo witnessed a wide wave of displacement due to the intense military escalation, especially in the western countryside of Aleppo and the towns of eastern Idlib, in light of the battles and mutual bombardment between government forces and armed factions, which prompted thousands of civilians to flee towards safer areas.
The battles caused the displacement of nearly 14,000 people, while violent clashes and exchanges of bombing continue between government forces and armed factions.
This comes as the fighting that broke out two days ago continues in the area surrounding Idlib andWestern Aleppo countryside.
A Sky News Arabia correspondent confirmed that the armed factions ordered residents of the western neighborhoods of Aleppo to evacuate immediately in preparation for storming it.
The western neighborhoods of Aleppo (New Aleppo, Al-Furqan, Al-Hamdaniya, and Jamiyat Al-Zahraa) are witnessing a large displacement movement towards areas inside and outside the city.
It is noteworthy that the ongoing military escalation, accompanied by increasing fears of direct confrontations on the contact lines, threatens to cause larger waves of displacement, especially with the approach of winter.
