It was around 4:00 p.m., when inside the Toconce River ravine Police found the whereabouts of this 71-year-old man, who was dehydrated, with a low level of spirit and response to stimuli.
This intense search was carried out by the GOPE of the El Loa Prefecture and the border detachments, which also included air support.
Carabineros provided first aid to the man, waiting for more personnel for the evacuation. Procedure that could take 6 to 7 hours.

The Swedish citizen (71), residing in Canada, managed to contact the 133 around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, indicating that it would be in the Cerro Chena sector. This was communicated to the Ollagüe Tenancy (F), which immediately formed a search patrol, spreading out through the sector where the foreigner would be, without finding his whereabouts.
This deployment was maintained throughout the night, joining the Carabineros from the other border detachments and from the GOPE.
Likewise, after noon in the vicinity of the Toconce dam, in the Linzor sector, police personnel managed to find the whereabouts of the vehicle in which the foreign citizen was traveling, which was without occupants.
Finally, and after several hours of searching, it was possible to find the person alive.
