Comoros President Wounded in Stabbing Attack

Comoros President Azali Assoumani suffered minor injuries with a knife on Friday, according to sources close to the presidency, while the government spokeswoman stressed that his life is not in danger after he was subjected to an “assault.”

A source close to the presidency, who requested anonymity, said that “President Ghazali Osman was slightly injured by a knife during a funeral ceremony,” noting that “his injuries are not serious,” and that the two attackers have been arrested.

Two other sources close to the presidency confirmed that Othmani’s injury was minor.

We are working to return residents to their homes in Lebanon and Israel.
