Prison guards postpone protest after intervention

Trade unions Isotita and Pasydy announced on Monday that they decided to postpone protests at the central prison scheduled for October 1 at the request of Justice Minister Marios Hartsiotis.

The trade unions said Hartsiotis promised to set up a meeting with them to draft a roadmap for the solution of problems at the central prison and to meet the demands of the personnel.

They also said they would be handing a memorandum to the president with their demands.
