His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sandooq Al Watan, honored national university students who won gold, silver and bronze awards in the field of student research dedicated to confronting climate change and the circular economy and related to the values ​​of sustainability.

This honor comes in appreciation of the efforts of university students who presented a large number of research projects, focusing on vital topics related to sustainability, during their participation in the competition, which was recently launched by Sandooq Al Watan, in which UAE universities participated.

His Excellency stressed that the bright future of countries and peoples stems from the ideas and visions of their talented people in various fields, and this is what the Al Watan Fund works for, through dozens, or even hundreds, of creative initiatives, to activate the capabilities of the people of the country and empower them.

His Excellency also stressed that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, is keen for the UAE to be cherished by the capabilities of its sons and daughters, and by the noble human values ​​that shape its path.

He expressed his complete confidence that the youth of the Emirates will be a creative force in society, and each of them will have a clear vision for the future, with their full commitment to authentic values, whether in the ability to continuously learn, search for new ideas, or strive for excellence and distinction at work. Or bring about lasting change for the better.

He explained that the competition focused on enhancing environmental awareness among young people, especially university students, and contributing to the development of a new generation skilled in the field of sustainability and committed to spreading it.

For his part, Yasser Al Gergawi, Director General of Sandooq Al Watan, expressed his confidence in the ability of the new generation to innovate creative solutions to environmental challenges, sustainability and the circular economy.

He stressed the importance of the vital role of youth in shaping a sustainable future and contributing to achieving the UAE’s goals to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

Al Gergawi said that the Fund, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, gives great attention to enhancing creativity and innovation among young people, especially university students, by supporting researchers and encouraging them to delve into topics related to climate change, sustainability, the circular economy and other important topics.
