The survey, conducted by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry and “Standard & Poor’s Global“, Friday, that the purchasing managers index for the Turkish manufacturing sector rose to 45.8 points in October from 44.3 points in September, to remain below the 50 point level that indicates growth.
The sector’s conditions have declined in every survey period since April.
Difficult market conditions continue Türkiyeleading to a decline in demand and a further slowdown in new orders and exports, prompting manufacturers to reduce production for the seventh month in a row.
The survey showed a decline in employment and purchasing activity also due to weak demand.
Some companies attributed the decrease in the number of employees to voluntary resignations.
