Trump pledges to sue Google if he wins the presidential elections

Yesterday, Donald Trump accused the search engine Google of only displaying bad articles about him, vowing to sue the technology giant if he wins the presidential elections.

Trump did not provide any evidence for his accusation in a post on his platform, “Truth Social,” adding that the search engine displays only positive articles about his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris.

He said in the post: “This is an illegal activity, and we hope that the Ministry of Justice will criminally prosecute them for this blatant interference in the elections.”

He added: “If this does not happen, and according to the laws of our country, I will request that they be prosecuted at the highest levels when I win the elections.”

Trump’s post came after a conservative organization reported on the results it obtained after conducting research that included the phrase “Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential race.”

A statement from Google explained that “the two campaigns’ websites are constantly displayed at the top of search results for specific or general inquiries.”

He added: “This report conducted a search on a rare and single term in one day a few weeks ago, and even for this search, the candidates’ websites ranked first in the search results on Google.”

Google confirmed that it does not manipulate search results for the benefit of any political candidate. The company does not disclose the internal operations of the software that runs its comprehensive search engine. However, timing and popularity of topics are factors known to influence search results.
