The UAE Human Resources Development Council and Chalhoub Group sign a memorandum of understanding at the Roya Employment Exhibition to enable Emiratisation in the private sector

The Emirates Human Resources Development Council in Dubai signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chalhoub Group, one of the most important makers of luxury experiences in the Middle East, during the UAE Careers Vision exhibition. This partnership aims to enhance Emiratisation efforts in the private sector, and provide the opportunity for citizens to participate in the prosperity of the future of various industries. And support the UAE’s vision to achieve a diversified and sustainable economy.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by His Excellency Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Vice Chairman of the Council and Director General of the Human Resources Department in Dubai, and Patrick Chalhoub, Chairman of the Chalhoub Group. This partnership reflects the commitment of both parties to expanding the opportunities available to citizens, by providing customized career paths, specialized training programs, and professional guidance to develop national competencies capable of contributing to the social and economic progress of the country.

His Excellency Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Emirates Human Resources Development Council, said: “The partnership with the Chalhoub Group is a qualitative addition to our partners from the private sector and will contribute to strengthening our efforts to achieve Emiratization goals in the private sector. We seek to make these partnerships enriching platforms that allow citizens to gain qualitative experiences. “Enhancing their skills in various fields, and giving them opportunities to excel in the distinctive business environments provided by partners, which contributes to the prosperity of the future of the UAE economy, is part of our efforts to support Dubai’s economic and social agenda.”

For his part, Patrick Chalhoub, Chairman of the Chalhoub Group, stressed the importance of this partnership, saying: “This memorandum of understanding reflects our firm commitment to supporting the Emiratization strategy in the UAE. Over the past year, our Emirati workforce has grown by more than 45%, demonstrating our true belief in the talent and passion of Emiratis. Our goal is to create real opportunities for all Emirati citizens, and provide them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. We share the same goal with the Dubai Human Resources Department to develop talent that will drive innovation and enhance the UAE’s position as a global leader in various industries.”

The partnership also includes initiatives to support Emirati students through practical training opportunities, which contributes to bridging the gap between education and employment. The Chalhoub Group’s Retail Academy will play a key role in providing Emiratis with industry-related skills, reinforcing the group’s ongoing commitment to workforce development and sustainable community engagement.

This memorandum represents a decisive step in aligning the efforts of the private sector with the national goals of Emiratisation, to ensure that citizens are an active component of leadership and innovation within the economic landscape in the UAE.

It is worth noting that the Emirati Human Resources Development Council in Dubai was established by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him. Its membership includes representatives from the government and private sectors, and the Council aims to create a reference body. Representing the entities concerned with developing Emirati human resources in the private sector in Dubai, and ensuring that there is an attractive and stimulating environment in it to attract Emirati human resources, and ensuring that the educational outcomes of Emirati students are aligned with the requirements of the labor market in the emirate according to the strategic priority sectors.
