Man arrested for mobile phone theft in Paralimni

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation of a mobile phone theft worth approximately €1,000 from an electronics store in Paralimni.

According to Famagusta police spokesman Steve Theodoulou, the theft was reported to the Paralimni police station on Thursday by the store manager. The incident took place the previous day when an unknown man stole a mobile from the shop.

Following investigations and information gathered by police officers, evidence pointed to a 34-year-old resident of the Famagusta district. Coordinated efforts by officers from Xylofagou police station and the Famagusta community policing unit led to the suspect’s location.

A search of the man’s residence uncovered the stolen phone, leading to his arrest on charges of illegal possession of property. During questioning, the man admitted to committing the theft. He was charged in writing and released, pending a future court appearance.
