His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” met with George W. Bush, former President of the United States of America, as part of his official visit to the United States of America.
During the meeting, His Highness and the former US President exchanged friendly talks, recalling his historic visit to the UAE in 2008, which strengthened the partnership between the two countries based on shared values and mutual commitment to promoting progress and stability. His Highness expressed his appreciation for the role of the former US President in strengthening these relations during his presidency and wished him continued health, wellness and a long life. The former President expressed his happiness at meeting His Highness and exchanging talks with him about historical stages in the relations between the two countries.
In this context, His Highness also referred to the prominent role of his late father, George H.W. Bush, in strengthening the relations of friendship and partnership between the two countries. His Highness said: “Your father was a friend of the UAE and an ally of the countries of the region in facing the most difficult challenges.”
His Highness stressed that the joint commitment to establishing security, stability and peace, whether in our region or globally, has been a major focus of cooperation between the UAE and the United States over the past decades, and this cooperation will continue during the next phase.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, and His Excellency Yousef Mana Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States.
