Khalid bin Mohammed approves ADNOC’s digital technology strategy

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, chaired the Executive Committee meeting of the Board of Directors of ADNOC, which was held at the company’s headquarters.

During the meeting, His Highness approved ADNOC’s innovative strategy in the field of artificial intelligence and digital technology, “Artificial Intelligence for Future Energy,” which aims to harness the potential of artificial intelligence and benefit from it in raising efficiency and achieving sustainability and growth in all the company’s operations.

His Highness praised ADNOC’s ambition to become the energy company that most applies artificial intelligence tools and solutions in the sector, and to enhance its position as a global leader in the field of artificial intelligence, in addition to its contribution to setting new standards for the use of technology in the energy sector.

His Highness also praised ADNOC’s efforts to benefit from artificial intelligence tools and solutions and employ them in the company’s decarbonization programs, during the “Year of Sustainability” in the UAE, stressing the pivotal role of artificial intelligence in improving energy production and enabling ADNOC to produce more with fewer emissions.

His Highness directed the precise and thoughtful implementation of ADNOC’s “Artificial Intelligence for Future Energy” strategy, to contribute to setting new standards for clean energy production and support the UAE’s ambitious goals to enhance climate action efforts and preserve biodiversity.

His Highness was briefed on the progress made by ADNOC’s local, international and low-carbon growth projects, as part of its efforts to expand its diverse portfolio of projects to ensure safe, reliable and responsible energy supplies, the latest of which was the recent strategic partnership agreement between ADNOC and ExxonMobil to establish the world’s largest low-carbon hydrogen production facility in Baytown, Texas, USA.

His Highness also praised ADNOC’s strategic initiatives, which aim to consolidate its position in the global energy sector, and commended the company’s efforts and initiatives in developing and preparing the next generation of Emirati leaders in advanced technology fields, stressing the pivotal role of these initiatives in ensuring the sustainability of the national economy and enhancing its position in leading technological innovation.

During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on ADNOC’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, which aims to identify and shape use cases for high-value artificial intelligence tools in all areas and stages of the company’s operations.

Following the meeting, His Highness met with members of the “Artificial Intelligence for Future Energy” team, which includes young Emirati leaders participating in pioneering initiatives and studies in the field of artificial intelligence. He praised their efforts and dedication in enhancing and supporting the growth and development of the national economy. His Highness also stressed the UAE’s keenness and commitment to developing young talents and enhancing their capabilities, considering them a fundamental pillar of the nation’s progress.

The meeting was attended by members of the Executive Committee of ADNOC’s Board of Directors, including His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC; His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; His Excellency Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Managing Director and Group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company; His Excellency Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; and His Excellency Jassim Mohammed Buatabh Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance.
