Egyptian source reveals developments in truce talks between Hamas and Israel

The statement added: “We affirm the movement’s readiness to immediately implement the ceasefire agreement based on President Biden’s announcement on May 31 and the resolution Security Council No. 2735, and what was previously agreed upon, especially the agreements of July 2, without setting any new demands, and rejecting any new conditions on this agreement by any party.

The statement stressed “the rejection of any projects related to the post-cessation of aggression on the Gaza Strip, and the emphasis that the management of the Strip is an internal Palestinian affair that is agreed upon with an agreed-upon Palestinian vision.”

Hamas also welcomed “conducting a comprehensive national dialogue with all Palestinian factions and forces to agree on a national vision to confront the repercussions of the current stage and unify the national arena.”

The statement concluded with: “Emphasizing Hamas’s response to the mediators’ efforts, and welcoming the continuation of their role and efforts to reach a ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupation army from the entire Gaza Strip, relief for our people, the exchange of prisoners, and reconstruction.”

The meeting in Doha comes as the White House reassesses its strategy for reaching an agreement on Gaza.
