Agriculture Minister Maria Panayiotou is set to inform an EU Council of Agriculture and Fisheries, in Brussels, on Monday, about the outcomes of the MED9 Agriculture Ministers Summit held in Cyprus, which addressed the impact of drought on farming.
Panayiotou, who is traveling to Brussels on Sunday, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Agriculture and Rural Development with the Agriculture Ministers of Malta and Greece on the sidelines of the council’s work, a press release said.
According to the announcement, the council’s meeting “will focus on the strategic dialogue on the future of agriculture, a review of the second year of implementing the Common Agricultural Policy’s strategic plans, as well as the market situation following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine”.
Panayiotou, it added, will also inform the council about the outcomes of the MED9 Agriculture Ministers Summit held in Cyprus, which addressed the impact of drought on farming.
She returns to Cyprus on Tuesday.
