The official visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to the United States of America, which begins the day after tomorrow, Monday, represents an important stage in the relations between the two countries, as it is the first of its kind for His Highness, since he assumed the presidency of the state, and which was described by the spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, as “historic.”
Stressing that “the UAE is a leading partner in the US President’s Global Infrastructure and Investment Partnership,” he pointed out that advanced technology will be a focus of these discussions, including efforts to advance the goals of responsible artificial intelligence.
During this unprecedented visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will discuss with President Joe Biden, President of the United States, the historic friendship between the UAE and the United States, which extends back more than fifty years, and ways to enhance their cooperation and strategic partnership in all fields, especially the economy, trade, investment, technology, artificial intelligence and space.
In addition to renewable energy, combating climate change, sustainability solutions, and other aspects that serve the two countries’ vision for a more advanced and prosperous future for all, His Highness is expected to discuss with his American counterpart views on all regional and international issues and developments of common interest.
During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will also meet with a number of American officials to discuss prospects for developing UAE-US relations at all levels.

He said yesterday, via his account on the “X” platform:
“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, may God protect him, will begin an important historic visit to the United States of America on Monday,” he added, “a visit whose theme is the future and whose primary goal is to strengthen economic and technological relations, cooperation, and partnerships.” He pointed out that “the UAE is determined to be an active partner in global technological development.”
While Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE Ambassador to the United States, described His Highness’s visit to Washington, and his upcoming meeting with US President Joe Biden, as an important stage in the relationship between the two countries.
Al Otaiba said in a statement published by the UAE embassy via the “X” platform, the day before yesterday: “The two sides will focus on the existing partnership between the UAE and the United States, which extends over five decades, and includes the areas of trade, investment and security.”
“They will also explore opportunities to expand cooperation into new areas including science, technology, and, currently, space,” he added. “In fact, few countries are as fast-paced in advanced technologies and artificial intelligence, and in close coordination and alignment as the United States and the UAE,” Al Otaiba said.
Al Otaiba noted that “together, the UAE and the US are a critical force for positive change and an engine for regional stability, prosperity and integration.” In this regard, he considered that by continuing to work together and address these challenges head-on, the UAE and America “are paving the way for another fifty years of cooperation.”
