Khloe Kardashian recently opened up about the challenges she faces raising her children, True, six, and Tatum, one, without a live-in nanny. The 39-year-old reality star shares her kids with her ex, NBA player Tristan Thompson, who currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
While Khloe appreciates the help Tristan provides when he is around, his frequent travels for work leave her with the bulk of the parenting duties. This situation has led her to consider hiring nighttime help. “I might have to change that or at least have someone available sometimes,” Khloe mentioned.
Khloe discussed her concerns on the latest episode of The Kardashians, explaining why she opted out of a family trip to Paris Fashion Week. She admitted to her eldest sister, Kourtney Kardashian, that the thought of leaving her kids made her anxious. “Tristan is gone, and it’s hard for me to leave them. I don’t have a parent to stay with them, and then I was thinking, the whole family was out of the country. What if there’s an earthquake? What if there’s something? There’s no parent. I was just freaking myself out,” she confessed.
Kourtney, who also skipped the Paris trip due to being near the end of her pregnancy with her and Travis Barker’s son Rocky Thirteen, six months, asked Khloe how she was managing. Khloe admitted that while she is coping, it is challenging without the support. “I’m fine. It’s just he’s a big help when he’s here, and I don’t have nannies at night, which I might have to change, or at least have someone be available sometimes.”
Khloe confirmed to Kourtney that she currently has no live-in help, noting her hands-on approach to parenting. She prepares breakfast and lunch for True every day and prefers to handle everything herself, despite Tristan’s occasional assistance. “I do everything and no one else… I don’t let anyone else do it. Tristan has done it, but I’m so particular.”
In a confessional, Khloe shared the toll of her routine. “Listen, I love my routine. I love being with my kids, but being a parent is hard, and it’s f***ing every day after 8:30 when True’s asleep. I am like crawling like I’m Leonardo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street like: ‘How do I get there?’ Then you wake up again and do it all over.”
Khloe’s candid admission sheds light on the relentless demands of parenting, even for a reality TV star, and highlights the importance of support systems in managing the challenges of raising young children.
