British tourist critical after falling near pool

A 56-year-old British tourist is in critical condition at Paphos General Hospital after falling from a height of three metres at a home in Peyia.

The incident occurred when the man attempted to jump into the pool from the veranda of the residence he was staying at. He slipped and fell onto the pavement near the pool.

Police were informed of the accident around 8.45pm on Thursday. The injured man was immediately transported to Paphos General Hospital, where he is currently being treated in the ICU.

Doctors have described his condition as serious.
