The governor said fetal Kamal Abu al-Rab said on Thursday that 6 Palestinians were killed and 18 others were injured during a military raid by Israeli forces in Qabatiya. The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) later announced that the death toll had risen to 7.
The governor added to Reuters that four of the injured were in critical condition.
Abu al-Rab said: “The occupation army detained the bodies of four martyrs after brutally abusing a number of them, which was recorded by camera lenses.”
Agence France-Presse captured images of two men’s bodies on the roof of a building in Qabatiya, while a third body could be seen lying on a metal plate on the lower floor.
The local official confirmed that Israeli forces later withdrew from Qabatiya, after destroying infrastructure in the area.
