The total population of Dubai has increased by 11.42% since 2019, representing an increase of 383,735 people, from 3,355,900 people in 2019 to 3,739,635 people at the end of the first half of this year, according to data from the Dubai Data and Statistics Corporation.
According to the institution’s data, the total population of the Emirate of Dubai in 2019 amounted to 3 million, 355 thousand, and 900 people. In 2020, the total population of the emirate amounted to 3 million, 411 thousand, and 200 people. In 2021, the total population of Dubai rose to 3 million, 478 thousand, and 300 people. The total population of the emirate also rose in 2022 to 3 million, 549 thousand, and 900 people. The total population of the emirate continued to rise in 2023, reaching 3 million, 655 thousand people.
The population in 1950 was 20,000, and in 1960 it rose to 40,000. In 1970, the population of Dubai reached 73,000, and in 1980, it reached 254,000, while in 1990, the population of the emirate reached 473,000.
In 2000, it reached 907,000, and the population of the emirate increased to 1.8 million in 2010. In 2020, the population increased to 3.3 million, and in 2023, the population of Dubai reached 3 million and 655 thousand people. The number is expected to reach 5.8 million in 2040.
