Cyprus will host the second international defence and security conference through the Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises (CARIE), in collaboration with C.D Multimedia Services, and other leading companies in the sector, it was announced on Wednesday.
The conference, one of the largest of its kind, is supported by Cypriot and foreign organisations, including the research and innovation foundation and defence equipment manufacturers of Greece.
Its stated aim is to “highlight innovations and initiatives of the Cypriot defence industry, within the framework of the European defence ecosystem.”
Topics discussed will cover “new technological trends, and challenges presented by the unstable geopolitical environment of the region,” the press release stated.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in multi-domain and network-centric operations, artificial intelligence (AI), unmanned aerial (UAVs) and ground (UGVs) systems, cyber security, electronic warfare, surveillance systems, missile systems, simulators, and satellite technologies.
Over 20 companies and organisations, local and international, will present a range of defence systems, many of which will be showcased in Cyprus for the first time.
The conference is open for public and private sector decision makers and defence companies involved in research and dual-use technologies, members of armed and security forces, students, academics and other experts.
The conference, under the theme “Battlefield ReDEFiNED 2024” will be held on December 12 and 13 in Nicosia at the Pavilion Hall, under his auspices Cyprus chamber of commerce and industry (CCC) and the Ministry of Defence.
