GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — An 84-year-old woman has died as the result of a crash on West Wendover Avenue, according to the Greensboro Police Department.
At around 6:08 p.m. on Monday, officers came to the 4500 block of West Wendover Avenue after getting a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Investigators say that Mary Edwards, 84, of Greensboro, was walking in the eastbound lanes of Wendover Avenue near Brandshire Court when she was struck by a Honda Accord that was also traveling east on Wendover.
Edwards died as a result of injuries she sustained in the crash on Monday evening.
Police say that neither speed nor impairment were factors in the crash. The GPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
