A Limassol man was arrested after being found acting suspiciously by members of the crime prevention squad after they had received a tip off he had broken into a house on Tuesday night.
When officers approached the 26-year-old he fled.
But when chasing officers cut him off, he pulled out a gun and threatened them with it but they were able to overpower and arrest him.
It was then realised it was a dummy gun.
A search of his person found a 30cm knife and burglary tools.
He is facing charges of carrying a gun to incite terror, carrying a knife, and possession of burglary tools.
