North Carolina man wins $150,000 after buying $5 scratch-off at convenience store

LEE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Jose Castillo Ramirez, of Sanford, bought a $5 scratch-off and won a $150,000 prize, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

Ramirez bought his Super Loteria ticket from the Short Stop on West Main Street in Sanford.

He collected his prize at lottery headquarters Friday.

After required tax withholdings, he took home $107,251.

Watch lottery drawings on FOX8! Mega Millions airs at 11 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday. Powerball airs at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The NC Lottery airs at 11:22 p.m. every night.
