EVERGREEN, Colo. (KDVR) — A video has surfaced of a man throwing what appears to be coffee at a bull elk at Evergreen Lake in Colorado.
In the video, shot by Matt Roehl, the man appears to be angered that the animal is on his path to work.
“He was trying to get to work when all the action took place,” Roehl told Nexstar’s KDVR.
The man in the video first yells at the elk. Then after the elk charges, he eventually tosses the beverage in the animal’s direction.
“He was trying to get by the bull and the bull wasn’t having it that day,” added Roehl.
Nobody was hurt in the encounter.
A spokesperson for Colorado Parks and Wildlife said, in general, visitors should not approach wildlife, and it is illegal to harass wildlife at any time.
Roehl hopes he doesn’t have to witness such an interaction again.
“It’s always in your best interest to give all wild animals enough space,” he said.
