Packed dead wild birds were found by police in a residential property in the Nicosia district on Tuesday.
The police also found a total of €32,500 in cash during their search. The property’s owner, a 42-year-old man, reportedly could not provide a sufficient explanation for how the money came into his possession.
As such, he was arrested, and the dead birds and cash were confiscated by the police.
Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man was arrested after a police search of his house turned up a quantity of cannabis. Police also found that he had not paid outstanding fines.
A 40-year-old man who was at the house at the time of the search was also arrested after reportedly issuing threats and insulting the police who were carrying out the search, as well as interfering in the police’s investigation.
Police carried out a search of his person, but did not find anything suspicious.
Elsewhere, a 35-year-old man was also arrested after having not paid outstanding fines. Police also searched his house, but did not find anything suspicious or illegal.
