70% chance of rain on Tuesday in the Triad; high of 64

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — The cold front is going to move quickly across the Piedmont this morning, bringing in rain for the early commute.

From the late morning onward, skies will stay mostly cloudy though there will be rapid clearing as the evening drive gets underway. Highs will rise into the lower-60’s early in the afternoon.

Mostly clear skies are expected tonight with lows in the mid-30s.

It will be dry Wednesday, though a bit cooler with highs in the upper-50s. A southern storm is forecast to ride to the north across the Carolinas on Thursday. This will bring in scattered showers Wednesday night and Thanksgiving Day with temperatures in the lower-60s.

Sharply colder weather is on the way for the post-Thanksgiving weekend. If you’re going out to find deals on Black Friday, bundle up because temperatures will be in the 40’s most of the day.  The high on Friday will squeak up to 50° under mostly sunny skies.

On Saturday and Sunday, lows will dip into the mid-20s and highs will hold steadily in the mid-40s. By Monday, we will have had lows in the lower-20s and most of the day, temperatures will be in the 30’s. The forecast high on Monday is 40°.
