The Cyprus Hotel Association (Pasyxe) on Tuesday announced the appointment of a new director general Christos Angelides to replace Philokypros Rousounides who had held the post for the past five years.
A Pasyxe announcement said Rousounides successful tenure had left “s strong legacy”.
Angelides will assume duties as of January 1, 2025.
The association said he has extensive experience in the hotel industry.
For more than 30 years, Angelides worked within the H & C Hotels group in the Ayia Napa and Protaras area.
He had also held the position of president of the Hotel Managers Association, vice president of the Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry and an active member of committees within the deputy ministry of tourism.
He holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in public administration from the University of Southern California, as well as degrees in sports management and physical education.
Addressing the Pasyxe board on confirmation of his appointment, Angelides said he was honoured and would work to strengthen the association “as a key pillar of the tourism industry”.
