POTTSTOWN — More than 20 volunteers provided more than 200 free meals over the source of Saturday and Sunday at Bethel Community Church of Pottstown on North Keim Street.
The church, which operates a regular weekly food pantry, put the packages together ahead of time in preparation for the drive-through giveaway.
Other than turkeys, the food provided included cold and hot cereal (oatmeal, grits, or box cereal) pancake and syrup, 1½ gallons of milk, eggs, apple juice or orange juice
For the Thanksgiving meal, recipients were provided with four cans of string beans and corn; three cans of yams, cranberry sauce and mixed vegetables; three boxes of stuffing mix; two packs of corn muffin mix; potato flakes; one to two packs of gravy mix; one-to-two bags of rice; two boxes or bags of macaroni noodles; cake mix and one box canned fruit, either peaches, applesauce, pears or pineapples.
