Nicosia’s JFK street closed due to debris from winds, crews onsite

A section of John Kennedy Street, in Nicosia, has been closed to traffic on Monday morning, the police announced.

The road section has been closed off since 8am for safety reasons, since objects and building materials had been blown down due to the strong winds affecting the capital over the weekend. Crews are working to clear the debris.

The section involves the junction of John Kennedy with Stasinou, up to the junction with Limassol Avenue. The section of the road in the direction from Limassol Avenue to John Kennedy Avenue remains open to traffic.

Traffic officers are om duty at the site, while drivers travelling towards Limassol Avenue can go through John Kennedy to Stasinou, and then from Verenikis or Saint Soucy to Limassol Avenue, police said.
