A new Jumbo store opened in Latsia on Thursday, spanning some 9,000 square metres across two floors.
It is the second Jumbo store in the Nicosia area, the first one being located in Lakatamia.
The store features close to 40,000 products. The store layout begins with toys and children’s sections, gradually moving through seasonal products (Christmas) and then into other sections like household items, kitchenware and gardening.
Unlike other Jumbo stores, this location features a set, one-way path that customers are required to follow, similar to Ikea.
One female customer in her late 50s expressed frustration at being required to walk through the entire store, especially if only items on the bottom floor are needed. She said that there was no way she could find to bypass the upper level and mentioned potential issues for customers with health problems.
A young male customer was pleased that the Latsia store had finally opened, as it was more convenient for him than travelling to the other Jumbo store in Lakatamia. He remarked that while he was glad it had opened before the Christmas season, he anticipated potential traffic issues in the area due to its proximity to Ikea and the Mall of Cyprus.
