• “Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations” will hit the Santander Performing Arts Center stage in Reading on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The show is the electrifying, smash-hit Broadway musical that follows the Temptations’ extraordinary journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. With their signature dance moves and silky-smooth harmonies, they rose to the top of the charts, creating an amazing 42 top 10 hits with 14 reaching No. 1. Nominated for 12 Tony Awards and the winner of the 2019 Tony Award for Best Choreography, “Ain’t Too Proud” tells the thrilling story of brotherhood, family, loyalty and betrayal as the group’s personal and political conflicts threatened to tear them apart during a decade of civil unrest in America. Written by three-time Obie Award winner Dominique Morisseau, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff (“Jersey Boys”), and featuring the Tony-winning choreography of Sergio Trujillo (“Jersey Boys,” “On Your Feet!”), the unforgettable story of this legendary quintet is set to the beat of the group’s treasured hits, including “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Get Ready” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone.” Ticket prices start at $45. • Pair Of Queens Tour, a couple of comedians who look to fill your evening with laughter, is set to perform Friday at 7 p.m. at SoulJoel’s in Pottstown. New York comedians Casey Balsham and Oscar Aydin are two of the most charismatic and energetic comics working today. Relatable in their own ways, Aydin rants and rambles about everything from gym steam rooms to paper straws while Balsham discusses life as a new mother. Balsham is an established comedian working at some of the best clubs in the country. She also has kept busy warming up crowds for shows on Apple TV and Comedy Central. Her album “Son of a Barb” hit number one on the iTunes Charts, and you can look for her first special, “Inconceivable,” this year. Aydin is known for his unfiltered “rainbow pushing” style. He’s been seen on Bravo, Netflix, BBC, Daily Mail, and as guest commentator on Amazon. He is a regular at New York clubs and has performed on stages alongside Nikki Glaser, Anthony Jeselnik and Andrew Schulz. He’s also featured across the U.S. with comedians such as Ashley Hesseltine, Hannah Berner and Jessica Kirson. Aydin hosts the hilarious digital series “Sit*N B*itch.”  Ticket prices start at $20. • “Sinatra and Friends,” a concert like no other, is set to take place Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center in West Chester. Vocalist Jack Giampalmi brings his smile, charm and entertaining nature to the microphone. Enjoy the great music as Jack wields the lyrics with his passionate delivery like none other than the king of lyrical phrasing, Frank Sinatra. Jack could not be Jack without the amazing sounds of a full orchestra, the Jump City Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Bob Wagner. Bob is an in-demand trumpeter, soloist and bandleader who also directs the chamber brass ensemble The Hickory Brass and is a featured performer with Victor Records and Vox Ama Deux Chamber Orchestra. Jack’s vocals blend perfectly with Jump City’s orchestral charts originated by Nelson Riddle, Quincy Jones, Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Count Basie and many other masters. Now Jack and Jump City will bring you these sounds once again. In addition to Sinatra classics, you will be entertained with familiar American songbook tunes that will bring to mind Bobby Darin, Dean Martin and other great vocalists. The energy of Jump City with Bob at the helm reminds audiences of the jump swing sound of Brian Setzer, Count Basie, Buddy Rich and other greats. Jack comes to Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center with over 15 years of professional singing experience after a 40-plus year career centered around many facets of the chemical and environmental industry. He’s been everything from a research chemist to marketing manager, patent developer to consultant, and keynote speaker to corporate director. Bob’s talents led him from a successful corporate career in electrical engineering as a marketing executive to being one of the best trumpet players and band leaders in the area, notably for The Jump City Jazz Orchestra. Bob, with his versatile blend of commercial and classical trumpet playing, has performed to standing ovations across the country in some of the nation’s most prestigious halls, including New York’s Carnegie Hall. Ticket prices start at $30 for students and $35 for everyone else. For information, go to uptownwestchester.org/.
