France aims to raise $540 million to help Lebanon

The document stated, “This conference aims to reach concrete initiatives for the country, especially in the humanitarian aspect, for which France has set an ambitious target for international support of about 500 million euros for Lebanon,” according to what Reuters reported.

She said that the aid will primarily target displaced people in the health, food, water, hygiene and education sectors.

She says Lebanon It needs $250 million a month to address the crisis that has displaced between 500,000 and one million people from southern Lebanon since Israel launched a large-scale attack on the Iran-backed Hezbollah group in September.

The document indicates that the conference will also call for a diplomatic solution to the crisis on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the previous round of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006, and to provide additional support to the Lebanese security forces, which are considered the guarantor of unity and stability in the country.
