And he announced TrumpOn Saturday, he nominated Brooke Rollins, president of the America First Policy Institute, as Minister of Agriculture, to fill the last position in his prospective government.
Rollins, a lawyer, served as director of the White House Domestic Policy Council at the end of Trump’s first term, before she founded the AFPI Center in 2021 with two other figures close to the Republican candidate, Larry Kudlow and Linda McMahon, who was nominated to take over the education portfolio.
“Brock (Rollins)’s commitment to America’s farmers, to defending America’s food self-sufficiency and revitalizing small towns that depend on agriculture, is unparalleled,” Trump said in a statement.
“Its mission will be to protect our farmers, the backbone of our country,” he added.
As Secretary of Agriculture, Rollins will oversee the government’s agriculture and food programs, research and food trade as well as food safety, animal welfare and plant health.
The new agriculture minister was seen as a potential candidate for the chief of staff position The white house Before Trump eventually entrusted this position to Susie Wiles.
With this new appointment, and with the series of appointments announced on Friday evening, Trump has completed the selection of figures in his government and will now be able to focus on key positions in the federal administration.
