Saudi Arabia.. Non-oil exports rise 16.8% in the third quarter

The Saudi General Authority for Statistics said on Sunday that national non-oil exports, which exclude re-exports, rose by 7.6 percent on an annual basis.

The authority explained that the value of re-exported goods increased by 48.4 percent in the same period.

The statement explained that merchandise exports declined during the third quarter of this year by 7.7 percent on an annual basis, as a result of a 14.9 percent decline in petroleum exports.

The proportion of petroleum exports out of total exports also decreased, from 77.3 percent in the third quarter of 2023, to 71.3 percent during the third quarter of this year.

Regarding imports, the General Authority for Statistics stated Saudi Arabia It increased during the third quarter of 2024 by 11.4 percent.

The Authority said that the surplus in the merchandise trade balance decreased by 43.4 percent on an annual basis in the same period.

The Authority’s statement explained that chemical industry products are among the most important non-oil export commodities, as they constituted 25.5 percent of the total non-oil exports in the third quarter.

Machinery, appliances, and electrical equipment and their parts constituted 26.5 percent of total imports.

According to the Authority’s statement, it is… China It is the main destination for Saudi exports, and accounted for 15.2 percent of total exports in the third quarter of this year, followed by Japan 9.3 percent of total exports.
