Blue Bell Rotary and partners gear up for 5K of the Burbs and Wellness Fest

BLUE BELL — Mark your calendars and lace up your sneakers for a high-energy day of fitness and wellness as the Blue Bell Rotary Club, in partnership with Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) and Whitpain Township Parks & Recreation, hosts the 5K of the Burbs & Wellness Fest on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Held at MCCC’s Health Sciences Center, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, this family-friendly event promises activities for all ages, whether you’re a seasoned runner, casual walker or interested in learning a lot more about wellness to improve your health.

The festivities kick off with the 5K of the Burbs Run at 8 a.m. followed by a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. Runners and walkers will enjoy a scenic route that winds through MCCC’s campus and surrounding area. For the 5K run, prizes will be awarded to the overall winners and top two winners in various categories. Registration is required for both events, with a discount and perks available for those who register by Oct. 26. To register for the run or walk, visit https://bit.ly/5KandWellness. There is no registration fee for walkers.

The entire community is invited to the free Wellness Fest inside the Health Sciences Center from 9 a.m. to noon. This walk-in event does not require any registration — feel free to stop in at your convenience. As part of a community effort to support those in need, attendees are encouraged to bring shelf-stable food items for MCCC’s Stock-up for Success food pantries.

Proceeds from the event will benefit two significant causes: Whitpain Township’s new nature-based accessible playground and MCCC students in need.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. To promote your business while supporting great causes, contact [email protected] for more information.
