The health portal of Gesy was down on Tuesday after facing technical problems for two days in a row and sparking problems with access to patient records.
“We are facing a technical problem. This is not the result of a government cyberattack,” the Health Insurance Organisation (HIO) PR and communications head Alexia Makridou told the Cyprus News Agency.
“Everyone is working intensively” to resolve the issue she said.
Makridou said the problem emerged on Monday, it was resolved but reappeared on Tuesday at 8am.
A slew of services have been hit by cyber attacks in the past few days including the government’s own web portal, Hermes Airport, Bank of Cyprus, Cyta and electricity authority.
Police spokesman Christos Andreou said on Monday that police control systems at airports and all checkpoints in Cyprus have been restored after the country was targeted by six cyberattacks over the weekend, allegedly linked to hacker group ‘LulzSec Black’.
