Berks County’s 2024 general election results are now official.
The county elections board voted to certify the results during a brief meeting Friday, bringing a contentious election season to a close.
Elections Director Anne Norton told the elections board that her team performed the required reviews and audits of the election results, finding no variations or discrepancies with the official tally.
“We came up with the exact same results that we did during the initial count,” she said.
Commissioner Michael Rivera, who serves as chairman of the election board, commended the election services team for the hard work and long hours they put into making sure every vote was counted.
“They did an amazing job preparing for the election, running the election and counting the ballots following the election,” he said. “Congratulations to everyone in election services and thank you for a job well done.”
Rivera also thanked the county workers from other departments who helped count tens of thousands of mailed ballots and the poll workers who spent Election Day making sure the voting system ran smoothly.
With all the votes counted, Donald Trump outperformed Kamala Harris in Berks County by 25,544 votes out of the 210,400 ballots cast in the presidential contest.
Trump received 116,660 votes, while Harris received 91,116.
The president-elect had his best showing in Berks of the three times he has run for the White House.
The 55% of votes he received was his largest share, topping the 53% he received in 2016 and 2020. And his 12-point margin of victory over Harris was likewise his largest, improving on his 11-point win over Hillary Clinton in 2016 and 8-point margin over Joe Biden in 2020.
