Consumer confidence in Britain recorded a slight increase in November

Consumer confidence in Britain recorded a slight increase in November

The GfK Foundation for Economic Studies stated that its confidence index Consumer It rose by three points to minus 18, amid optimism British families regarding its own financial affairs and the economic prospects of the country in general.

Economists participating in a survey conducted by Bloomberg News expected a limited decline in the index.

Bloomberg quoted Neil Bellamy, Director of Consumer Insights at JFK, as saying: “There have been signs of anxiety in recent months as consumers monitor the troubling effects of the budget at home, and the repercussions of… US presidential elections“.

He added: “But we have overcome these events now.”

On the other hand, the GFK index for major purchases rose by 5 percent to reach negative 16, indicating the tendency of consumers to take advantage of Black Friday discounts to purchase high-priced items until the end of this month.

Other indicators related to private finances, financial expectations, and economic conditions in general recorded slight increases.
