And he said Diplomatic advisor To the Kremlin Yuri Ushakov during a press conference in Moscow It’s at the end of a peak BRICS In Kazan, “seven bilateral meetings will be held,” including a meeting “with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.”

This is António Guterres’ first visit to Russia since April 26, 2022.

He then met with Vladimir Putin in Moscow, who told him that he believed in a “positive” outcome of the negotiations with Ukraine. Since then, Moscow and Kiev have suspended all official negotiations, and their positions appear irreconcilable.

On the sidelines of the Russian summit, Vladimir Putin will hold about fifteen bilateral meetings, including his Chinese counterparts Xi Jinping, South African Cyril Ramaphosa, Turkish Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Iranian Masoud Pezeshkian, Egyptian Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Russian President limited his international movements after an arrest warrant was issued against him by the International Criminal Court in March 2023 on suspicion of his involvement in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia, charges that Moscow strongly denied.

The Russian President was absent from the previous BRICS summit in South Africa in August 2023, and then the G20 summit in India in September of the same year.

He announced on Friday that he will not travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 18 and 19 to attend the G20 summit.
