Egypt and Iran discuss developments in the situation in Lebanon and Gaza

The official page of the Ministry said Egyptian Foreign Ministry On Facebook: “Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received a phone call today, November 21, from Abbas Araqchi, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, where the two ministers touched on developments in regional situations, particularly the developments taking place in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.”

She added: “The (Egyptian) Foreign Minister expressed to his Iranian counterpart Egypt’s concern about the continued escalation in the region, and reiterated the importance of reducing tensions and practicing restraint at this delicate stage, stressing the importance of reaching an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon“.

She continued: “In this context, review the communications you are conducting Egypt With various regional and international actors to reduce the escalation, indicating Egypt’s keenness to continue providing all forms of political and humanitarian support to Lebanon and its brotherly people.”

She highlighted: “The call also addressed the presidential vacancy crisis in Lebanon, as the Foreign Minister stressed the need for all parties to support Lebanon at this critical stage in electing a president for the country through national consensus without external interference, and stressed the importance of empowering Lebanese institutions, led by the Lebanese army, and implementing the Security Council resolution.” No. 1701 with all its elements.
