Six fire engines called to devastating house fire in Yelsted Lane, Boxley, near Maidstone

Dozens of firefighters are at the scene of a devastating house blaze this morning.

Six fire engines and a specialist vehicle to tackle flames from above have been called to the property in Boxley, near Maidstone.

Pictures show the fire, which started shortly before 4.45am, has caused significant damage to the home in Yelsted Lane.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is advising people to avoid the area and neighbours to keep their windows and doors closed because of the smoke.

It has not yet been said if anybody was in the house at the time the fire started.
