Cyprus and Malta discuss supply of drugs to small EU countries

Cyprus’ proposal for the creation of a mechanism for the joint supply of pharmaceuticals for EU countries with small markets was discussed on Saturday between Health Minister Michalis Damianos and his Maltese counterpart Jo Etienne Abela.

Speaking after the meeting, Damianos said they discussed various challenges faced by their countries, both being small countries in the EU.

He said they discussed the availability of pharmaceuticals in Malta and the proposal for the voluntary cooperation of EU states for a joint supply of medicines.

We will keep this discussion open to benefit our people and patients,” Damianos added.
