The Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that signing the agreement with Turkmenistan comes within the government’s program to diversify energy in the country, noting that Turkmenistan It will supply gas to Iraq via gas pipelines to the Iranian side.
He added, “The contract will guarantee the supply of 10 million cubic meters in the winter and 20 million cubic meters in the summer.”
Fadel said, “The Ministry will work to activate the agreement quickly through the Iraqi Trade Bank,” explaining that “the important condition included in the contract in the event of any problem with supplying… mystification “It will be replaced with quantities of gas in the same quantity.”
The minister explained that: “Through this contract, many problems have been addressed because the contract will include a first start with the supply of gas, and in the future we will work to develop our Iraqi fields within the government program and be sources for enhancing energy to rely on local energy. We in the Ministry of Electricity have diversified energy sources to ensure energy stability.” Pointing out that, “Within the contract, we will ensure that the units operate in the summer and that production levels will be higher.”
