(WGHP) — An approaching cold front will be pushing mild air into the Piedmont today, with clouds and morning showers.
Have your umbrella ready for the morning commute. Showers are marching across the Piedmont and will continue into the late morning hours. By lunchtime, we will have cloudy skies with only isolated, pop-up showers. Highs today are going to be above normal, in the mid-60s, and the chance of rain is 90%.
The cold front will cross the Triad around 7 p.m. causing winds to dramatically increase during the evening. Wind gusts will be between 30 and 35 mph. Our skies will rapidly clear, and lows are going to plunge into the mid-30s by tomorrow morning.
Thursday and Friday are going to be blustery, with 15-20 mph sustained winds and higher gusts. On both days, highs will be in the lower 50s with wind chills in the 40s.
Breezy conditions remain for Saturday, but winds will begin to get lighter by Sunday. It’s going to be a dry weekend with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Highs will climb into the mid-50s Saturday and lower-60s Sunday.
As the new work week begins, we can look forward to unseasonably mild temperatures returning to the Piedmont! Highs will be in the mid-60s under partly cloudy skies Monday and Tuesday.
