CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — At the start of the season, would you have believed that the Panthers would have an all-time NFL record holder on the roster?
Even though Carolina was on a bye, it became a reality.
Ravens kicker Justin Tucker missed two field goals Sunday, making Panthers kicker Eddy Pineiro the most accurate field goal kicker in the history of the league.
This comes on the heels of a 36-yard field goal in overtime, securing Carolina’s win over the Giants in Germany.
There is though a large disparity in sample size. Tucker has hundreds more kicks than Eddy
Pineiro, who is at 89.38% percent, made kicks. That’s just 101 of 113 field goals.
Tucker is now 411 of 460 for 89.35%. This is by far Tucker’s worst year as a pro. He’s second worst in the league at 71.4.
When it comes to breaking out the big leg—kicks of 50 yards or more—he’s a career 61 of 92. However, Eddy’s got distance; he’s a career 11 for 13.
