POTTSTOWN — History enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and fans of charming older homes are once again in for a fun-filled afternoon at the Pottstown GoFourth! 6th Annual Historic Pottstown Holiday Tour, taking place on Sunday, Dec. 8.
This year, attendees will have the chance to discover the diverse styles of homes in the North End area of the borough. As you stroll through the North End neighborhoods, you’ll encounter a delightful mix of architectural styles, each home with its own unique character and history. Tour homeowners will be on hand to share anecdotes about their property, helping to bring this slice of Pottstown’s past to life.
“Pottstown’s North End boasts an array of wonderful homes,” said Jo Bathurst, chairwoman of the GoFourth! Historic Pottstown Holiday Tour. “Get ready to be charmed by the rich history, beauty, and warm, welcoming atmosphere of Pottstown. The property owners always go above and beyond when preparing for this tour, taking great pride in displaying their lovely homes beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. We are truly grateful for their generosity in opening their doors to welcome guests.”
For a dive deeper into the history behind this part of town, there is a combination ticket that includes both the Historic Guided Trolley Tour, “The Birth of the North End,” and the Historic Pottstown House Tour. Priced at $60, this package gives access to both tours. The trolley tour will be led by Pottstown historian Michael Snyder, who will share historical insights and facts about Pottstown’s evolution into what is now known as The North End, an area that was once farmland on the town’s outskirts. This tour is truly a delight for history enthusiasts!
There are two trolley tour runs, 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 pm. Before or after the trolley tour, depending on ticket time, ticket holders will have the opportunity to visit the tour houses at their leisure, taking time to explore these local gems and uncovering the stories they hold. Note that tickets for the trolley tour are extremely limited and early ticket purchase is strongly recommended.

“If you can’t attend the tours in person, you can still show your pride in the community by purchasing the 2025 Pottstown Historic House Tour calendar.
The calendar features photographs of some of the wonderful homes in the North End section of Pottstown, captured by local photographer Carol Brightbill,” added Amy Bathurst Francis, co-chairwoman of Pottstown GoFourth!
“Priced at $20 each, the 2025 calendars will be available for purchase starting in December, with all proceeds going toward Pottstown GoFourth’s Fourth of July fundraising efforts,” Francis explained.
Calendars can be purchased at www.pottstowngofourth.com.
“Whether you are a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, the GoFourth! Historic Holiday Tours are an excellent opportunity to connect with the community, celebrate its storied past, and create new memories with friends and borough neighbors.” Francis added. “Don’t miss this chance to step back in time and discover the hidden gems of Pottstown’s North End.”
