Dubai Harbour will host the Expand North Star exhibition, the largest event for startups and investors around the world, from October 13 to 16.

Organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, the highly anticipated event brings together the world’s leading startups, innovators, investors, entrepreneurs and successful business leaders to explore the unique growth opportunities Dubai offers to help shape the future of the digital economy.

1,200 investors are expected to participate in the “Expand North Star” events, and senior investment fund officials will discuss cooperation opportunities with the 1,800 startups expected to participate, which came from 100 countries around the world. Thus, the exhibition records the largest number of startups that have reached advanced business stages, compared to other international events, which reflects the record growth in the number of participants in the event, and consolidates the importance of “Expand North Star” on the map of the global digital economy.

This year’s session will see the participation of new investors from the world’s largest investment funds, and investors from new countries, including Azerbaijan, Mauritius, Denmark, Peru, Malta and Cyprus.

In conjunction with the growth and diversity of investor participation, the exhibition will witness an increase in the number of startups from countries participating for the first time in the “Expand North Star” events this year, most notably Austria, Australia, Canada, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Malaysia, Singapore and other countries.

Last year’s edition of Expand North Star witnessed the attendance of 33,060 participants and 855 investors managing assets worth more than US$1 trillion. The exhibition attracted 1,604 startups from 91 countries, and 52 billion-dollar companies participated in the exhibition, with a combined market value of US$663 billion.

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is committed to supporting the success of Dubai’s advanced digital ecosystem and working to enhance the emirate’s transformation into one of the world’s leading digital economies in line with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). Expand North Star is one of the most prominent pillars of the Chamber’s strategy to achieve the emirate’s ambitions to become a leading global center for innovation and technology, in addition to its important role in driving economic growth and development in the emirate and the world.
