Police seeking suspect after drug car chase

A 37-year-old man is wanted by police after allegedly evading arrest during a drug car chase in Limassol on Wednesday morning.

According to police, members of the drugs squad Ykan attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle for a routine check. However, the suspect sped off, colliding with two police vehicles in the process, which resulted in a minor injury to an officer.

Police pursued the suspect, who managed to enter the British Bases area and escape. During the chase, the suspect was seen throwing a bag out of the car. The bag was later found to contain 11.6 kilos of cannabis.

The police have released a photo of the suspect on their website and are asking for the public’s help in locating him.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Ykan headquarters in Limassol at 25805068, the nearest police station, or the Citizens’ Hotline at 1460.
