Grant will aid development of Hollenbach Park in Upper Pottsgrove

UPPER POTTSGROVE — A grant worth $61,700 has been awarded to Upper Pottsgrove Township to help continue improvements of Hollenbach Park off North Hanover Street, opposite the entrance to Pottsgrove Middle School.

This grant is from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program.

This latest award for Hollenbach Park is in addition to the $200,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) announced earlier this year. Currently in the engineer phase, this project will include the installation of a one-mile, ADA-accessible loop trail at the park, new paved ADA-accessible parking spaces, project acknowledgement signs across the park and related site amenities for visitors.

The township hopes to begin construction in 2025, according to a press release from state Rep. Donna Scheuren, R-147th Dist., announcing the grant.

“I am so pleased to see this grant funding be awarded to Upper Pottsgrove for the improvement of Hollenbach Park,” said Scheuren. “Keeping our public and open spaces safe for all members of the community is critical. I know these improvements will help update Hollenbach Park so it can remain a great place to enjoy the outdoors in the 147th District.”
