On Monday, Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen accused the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) of being useless and did not protect Israeli citizens from attacks by the Lebanese Hezbollah group, and called on it to withdraw its forces amid the escalation of fighting.
