Pottstown-area churches schedule worship services, special events

Trinity UCC

POTTSTOWN — Trinity Reformed UCC, 60 N. Hanover St., will hold service in our sanctuary at 10:15. This week Pastor John is away, so Kate Hoffman will be offering the message. Trinity hosts multiple weekly support groups: Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7:30 pm every Monday, New Horizons (Narcotics Anonymous) meets at 7 every Tuesday and Thursday, Taking Back our Power (mental health support) meets at 1 pm every Thursday, and Breath of Hope (Narcotics Anonymous) meets at 7:30 every Friday. We continue to offer a Community meal for anyone in need at 5 pm every Tuesday. This week Pottsgrove Moms will be sponsoring the meal. Trinity will be having our next free fresh produce giveaway on Saturday, Oct. 26, beginning at 10 am for anyone in the community who is in need.

Brownback’s UCC

SPRING CITY — Join us this Sunday at 10 am for the worship service in the Sanctuary led by Rev. Bill Wisneski. Before the service at 9:45 am, you can also join us for a short Prayer Service in the Chapel and coffee in the lobby. Pastor Bill leads a Bible Study on the topic of angels each Wednesday at noon and 7 pm. If you join at noon, feel free to bring a bagged lunch and enjoy a time of fellowship before the group begins. This is a free program open to all in the community. Throughout October, we are collecting non-perishable food items and toiletries for the Spring City Food Pantry. Pastor Bill will bless the collection on Oct. 27, and then the food will be delivered to the pantry. Coventryville UMC

SOUTH COVENTRY — This Sunday, join us for our traditional worship service at 10:30 AM. Come out for the annual Trick and Treat Trail on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 am – 1 pm. We will be serving a hot dog lunch along with games and pumpkin decorating. Then come out for the Turkey Dinner that evening from 4-6 pm. Whether you dine in or take out, the dinner includes turkey, potato bread filling, gravy, green beans, cranberries, applesauce, and dessert. The cost is $15 for adults and $13 for students and seniors (65 and older). The Thrift Shop is open on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 am to noon. Donations also accepted. All proceeds benefit Coventryville and its outreach programs. On Oct. 20, we will celebrate our 250th Anniversary with Rev. Herb Snyder preaching and a luncheon after worship. POTTSTOWN — On Saturday at noon, the Mission’s Ministry will meet in the Library. At 1 PM, the Trustee Board will be meeting. On Sunday at 10 AM, it’s “Community Sunday School” when the topic will be “Empowered Servants” based on Romans 15:1 – 13. St. James Lutheran

LIMERICK — St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road, invites you to worship with us this Sunday, Oct. 13. There will be two services. The Contemporary service will be at 9 AM. First Baptist Church

POTTSTOWN — St. John’s UCC, 11 S. Price St., welcomes all to join in worship on Sunday at 10:15 am. If unable to attend in person, the service will be available for viewing on YouTube later in the day. The Little Pantry is stocked weekly with water, food, and personal care items for community members in need. Food is also being collected to support Operation 143 provides food to schoolchildren in the Pottstown and surrounding school districts. St. John’s also provides meeting space for AA and NA groups throughout the week on various days/times.

BARTO — Christ Lutheran Church will worship on this the Twenty-First Sunday after Pentecost on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 9 a.m. for the worship service led by Pr. Matthew Finney, who will also give the sermon for the morning. We will bless the quilts that are made by members and friends of the congregation during the service. EAST GREENVILLE — Scout Troop 108 from East Greenville will celebrate its 100th Anniversary of scouting on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 AM-4 PM at New Goshenhoppen Church Park (618 3rd Street, East Greenville, PA 18041) All are welcome to come out and celebrate the 100th anniversary of Troop 108. ROYERSFORD — The Women of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be hosting its 19th Annual Basket Raffle on Sunday, Oct. 13.
